Rui Ping “Robin” Huang

Robin Huang is currently a senior studying piano performance in CSULB Bob Cole Conservatory under Dr. Samuel Grodin. Robin started playing piano around 9 years old, but decided to switch to violin at 12 years old. Robin was raised in Taiwan. In 2018, Robin moved to America to pursue education and also studied music with his high school orchestra teacher Pin Chen. In 2022, Robin decided to pick up piano again and quickly self-learned a lot of piano music. In 2023, Robin attended one of the world class Brevard music centers in North Carolina. He studied with Dr. Douglass Weeks, and plays with Norman Krieger, Jeremy Denk and some world-known pianists in orchestra. During his time in the Bob Cole Conservatory, Robin played two masterclasses with Dr. Angela Kim and Dr. Sharon Mann in Bob Cole Conservatory. Robin also studied jazz piano with Dr. Gerhard Guter. In the Summer of 2025, Robin made his orchestral debut with Long Beach Summer Orchestra by playing George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with his own cadenza. In 2026 Robin joined the Hughes middle school as an accompanist for the choirs. Robin also loves to play improvisation in his own way.
