Pinnacle Voices Audition

for 2026 - 2027!

Audition Process:

(What do I have to do to Audition?)

Audition Dates: April 20th, 2026 (Monday) → April 28th, 2026 (Tuesday)

Audition Location: Mr. Balajadia’s Room (Room #9101, Hughes Middle School)

Audition Steps:

  1. Schedule an Audition (Auditions Run from Monday, April 20th, 2026 → Tuesday, April 28th, 2026).

    1. 6th Graders have the Option to either Audition during 6th Grade Lunch and/or After School from 2:40 - 3:15.

    2. All 7th / 8th Graders must Audition After School from 2:40 - 3:15.

  2. Be Prepared to Sight Sing (Refer to the Pinnacle Voices Audition: Sight Singing Document - See Below)

  3. Be Prepared to Tonal Memory (Be prepared to hear, memorize, and sing 5 Notes on a neutral syllable. This will happen 5 times.)

  4. Be Prepared to Sing America the Beautiful (Be prepared to sing your part on “America the Beautiful” by yourself while Mr. Balajadia sings another part.)

Additional Notes:

  • You are allowed to annotate and write in any helpful markings in terms of rhythms and Solfège for your Sight Reading Portion.

  • The Part Tracks Provided are structured so that when listening to the Part Track of your Voice Type, the Left Earphone will play “Your Notes” and the right earphone will play the rest of the Voice Parts. Using these Part Tracks effectively should be as follows:

    • Put in the Left Earphone to hear your part individually.

    • Add the Right Earphone to hear your part in cohesion with the other parts.

    • When you’ve learned your part confidently enough - remove the left earphone and assess yourself to see if you can sing your part while only hearing the other 3 voice parts in the right earphone.

  • The purpose of this audition is to demonstrate your current musical ability, potential for growth, and ambition for musical excellence. Even though you may mess, up any singular mistake will not automatically dismiss you for an Invitation for Pinnacle Voices.

  • Do your best! This is an opportunity to show what you have learned and how much you have grown over the course of the year. We at CAMP Hughes want to see you put your best foot forward.

  • Each Audition is Tailored to the Individual Auditioning, all participating members may be tested up to all (3) components, while others may not need to complete all (3) parts depending on what the Student has demonstrated in class throughout the year, up until this point.

  • Camp Hughes reserves the right to extend a personal invitation into the ensemble at any point regardless of audition components completed.
